Nanzen-in 南禅院

Nanzenin Temple in Kyoto was once Emperor Kameyama's detached palace. He retired there in 1289 to become a Buddhist monk. The temple features a garden designed in the late Kamakura period, which is considered one of Kyoto's three most scenic and historic gardens.
