Daigo-ji is a temple located in the southeast of Kyoto City. It was officially established in 874 and is recognized as the Head Temple of the Daigo Branch of Shingon Buddhism. The temple's grounds cover 600 hectares and are divided into two sections: Kami Daigo and Shimo Daigo.
