Kanzeon-ji Temple 観世音寺

Kanzeon-ji is a temple in Fukuoka that Emperor Tenji built to honor his mother, Empress Saimei. The temple was completed in 746, and Kaidan-in, an ordination hall, was added in 761. Kanzeon-ji was once the most important Buddhist temple in Kyushu.
