Engaku-ji Temple

Engaku-ji Temple was constructed in 1246 by Hojo Tokiyori to commemorate the arrival of Buddhist monk Lanxi Daolong. The original temple buildings were destroyed during a period of war. In 1636, the temple was rebuilt at a new location and became a monastery for Shofukuji Temple.
