Ernie Pyle Monument アーニー・パイル記念碑

The Ernie Pyle Monument is located on the southern part of Iejima, an island in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. It is dedicated to U.S. journalist Ernie Pyle, who died on the island in April 1945 during the Battle of Okinawa. A memorial service is held annually around April 18, the date of his death.
