Nakamachi Street (Nakamachi-dori) 中町通り

Nakamachi Street in Matsumoto was a central business district during the Edo period, located on the old Zenkoji Kaido route. It was known for wholesale dealers, including sake brewers and kimono merchants. Many historic buildings on the street, some over a century old, were once storehouses called kura or dozo. Today, Nakamachi features various shops, restaurants, and cafes, along with the Kurassic-kan, a former sake brewery, and the Scale Museum, housed in a former scale shop.
