Manji Stone Buddha 万治の石仏

The Manji Stone Buddha is a statue of Amida Buddha that was carved in 1660. A mason created it after blood reportedly flowed from a stone he intended for a torii gate. The statue gained national recognition after artist Taro Okamoto visited it in 1974.
