Hikone Castle 彦根城

Hikone Castle is an Edo-period Japanese castle in Hikone, Shiga Prefecture. Construction began in 1602 and was completed in 1622 under Ii Naokatsu. The castle was preserved by imperial request when other feudal fortifications were dismantled.
