Sugatami-zaka 姿見坂

Sugatami Zaka Slope in Hakodate was named for a red-light district that once existed at its top. Prostitutes in elaborate costumes were visible on the streets there. This area, which included a "Tea Room Town," was destroyed by a fire in 1871.
