Tomioka Hachiman-gū 富岡八幡宮

Tomioka Hachiman Shrine, Tokyo's largest Hachiman shrine, was established in 1627. The shrine is also recognized as the origin of professional sumo, with the first Kanjin-zumō held there in 1684. A monument honoring successive yokozuna was erected at the shrine in 1900.
