Sapporo Agricultural College Second Farm (Model Barn) 札幌農学校第二農場

Sapporo Agricultural College Farm No.2 opened in 1876, at the same time as Sapporo Agricultural College. It was built to introduce modern, large-scale Western-style agriculture to Japan. The farm preserves a model of a dairy farm suitable for the Hokkaido climate, developed in the late 19th century. In 1969, Farm No.2 became an Important Cultural Property of Japan.
