Engaku-ji is a significant Zen Buddhist temple complex in Kamakura, Japan, founded in 1282 by the Chinese Zen monk Mugaku Sōgen. The temple features a classical Japanese Zen monastic design, and both its Shariden and Great Bell are designated National Treasures. It is also one of the historic sites proposed for inclusion in UNESCO's World Heritage Sites.
