Amanawa Shinmei Shrine 甘縄神明神社

Amanawa Shinmei Shrine, established in 710, is Kamakura's oldest Shinto shrine. It honors the sun goddess Amaterasu. The shrine's original structures were destroyed in the 1923 Great Kantō earthquake and rebuilt in 1936, with a further reconstruction completed in 1998.
