Higashi Park 東公園

Higashi Park in Fukuoka was built on the site of a 1274 battle between Mongolian and Japanese armies. The park contains statues of Emperor Kameyama and Buddhist monk Nichiren, both from the same era as the invasion. It also houses the Mongolian Invasion Museum and Toka-ebisu Shrine, which is dedicated to the god of happiness.
