Old Iwabuchi Sluice Gate (Akasuimon / Red Sluice Gate) 旧岩淵水門(赤水門)

The Old Iwabuchi Sluice Gate, located in Kita City, Tokyo, was constructed in 1924. Its original purpose was to prevent flooding of the Sumida River by diverting excess water to the Arakawa Floodway. Although it no longer serves this function, the red gate remains a notable landmark.
