Sogisui Spring 宗祇水

Sogisui is a spring located beneath the Shimizubashi Bridge embankment. The Ministry of the Environment designated it as the first of Japan's "100 Best Waters." The spring was named Sogisui in 1471 after two poets, Iio Sogi and To Tsuneyori, composed poems near the water.
