Sanmachi Suji Old Town (Furui Machinami) 古い町並み（さんまち）

Sanmachi Suji is a well-preserved historic district in Takayama, featuring many buildings and streets of houses from the feudal era. The southern part of the old town, particularly Sannomachi Street, contains old homes, shops, cafes, and sake breweries, some of which have operated for centuries. Visitors can explore several homes that are open to the public, offering a look into the lives of former merchants.
