Sapporo Ainu Culture Promotion Center (Sapporo Pirka Kotan) 札幌市アイヌ文化交流センター

The Sapporo Ainu Culture Promotion Center, also known as Sapporo Pirka Kotan, is a facility where visitors can learn about the history and culture of the Ainu people, who are the original inhabitants of Hokkaido. It is the first center in Japan to focus on indigenous people, offering a hands-on experience with around 300 traditional Ainu craftworks, including clothing and tools. The center also hosts workshops on Ainu embroidery and traditional musical instruments, as well as various cultural events and ceremonies throughout the year.
