Iwato Kannondo Cave Temple 岩戸観音堂

Iwato Kannondo Hall and Cave were constructed in 1936. The cave, which is approximately 120 meters long, contains 33 statues of Kannon, the Goddess of mercy. The site was built to honor those who died during the construction of the highway between Otaru and Jozankei, and to promote traffic safety.
