The Akazu-no-mon gate is a large, fortified castle gate that served as an entrance to the main level of the castle. This area housed the feudal lord's residence, and access was restricted to a select few. The gate was typically kept closed, which is reflected in its name, meaning "unopened gate." While the original gate was dismantled during the Meiji Era, its exterior was reconstructed in 1966.
