The stones in the walls of Nagoya Castle have identification marks from the 20 daimyo who were commanded to build the castle. The largest stone in the castle is called the Kiyomasa Stone. It is named after Kato Kiyomasa, a famous castle architect, who, according to legend, brought the stone to Nagoya.
