Utasu Shrine in Kanazawa has roots in an old mirror found by the Asanogawa River, which featured rabbit and dragon patterns. The shrine was later dedicated to the god Utatsu. After the death of Lord MAEDA Toshiie, the shrine became a clan shrine, honoring the spirit of the Maeda family. A well on the grounds, known as "Sasayu water well of Lord Toshitsune," is believed to have cured an illness of Tsunanori, the fifth Lord of Kaga Domain.
