Sojiji Soin is a monastery that stands on the site of the original Sojiji, which was founded in 1321 by Zen master Keizan. Keizan helped spread the Soto school of Zen Buddhism in Japan. The original structure was destroyed by fire in 1898. The current monastery has notable buildings, including the hatto, or Dharma Hall, and the Dentoin, which is Keizan's mausoleum.
