Shiroyone Senmaida Rice Terraces 白米千枚田

The Shiroyone Senmaida Rice Terraces are located on the Noto Peninsula's northern coastal hillside. These terraced rice paddies are recognized as one of Japan's 100 best and are a designated Site of National Scenic Beauty. The 1,004 remaining paddies are cultivated by hand because their small, narrow, or irregular shapes prevent the use of machinery.
